Isn't that a bit of a backward step. He's gone from getting game time at a club 5th in the Championship to a club 13th in League One. I don't think it was beyond the realms of possibility that he could have broken into the team given he was considered good enough to be coming on off the bench.

The club disagrees which is why they setup the loan. Good move as long as he gets minutes. If he plays well he can push for a place next season.

Getting minutes is the important thing I'd say, though League One v A-League is comparable in quality - so at best its a sideways move from when he was in Aus just with more football imo. We hope.

He wasn't getting many mins
 
I'd like to think that Rodrigues has been more or less guaranteed a starting spot at Wigan for him to jump at a last minute loan after having such a positive start to the season with Coventry.

Then again as mentioned he very well may have not had any choice.
