2025 Australia Cup final rounds thread

I've enjoyed watching Heidelberg this year and they deserve a spot in the final, but the Jets have been in the wilderness for quite a while now and the faithful are craving some silverware, go the Jets. Also hi to everyone. Long time reader first time poster. Also thanks to Pasquali for answering my questions

Whereas the bergers have been at the forefront of silverware the last 20 years.. hahahha.. still a hurdle or 2 to get there before it can be handed over though for the jets..

No disresepct to newcastle but as far a footballing story the bergers winning it would make national headlines on the back of possiboy 4 pro sides, and drive the comp to new pastures whereas another aleague win will be fogotten the day after....

Welcome and lets see a great final preferrably in melb eve if you make it!

avondale have had some good chances, but not doing themselves favours with their finishing

That was a good game, enjoyed it from a neutral. Dont know of the Jets can beat this bergers side though. either way its gonna be a great final game.

The Jets players look too small and will get bullied by the bigger heidelberg bodies. BUT they will be 100% fit in October. Think the venue will likely decide who wins this.

How many opportunities does an npl club get to host a NATIONAL final?

The Jets have hosted a grand final before and continue to have that opportunity as a top flight club.
Is it not advantageous enough that the NPL teams always have to have HOME games against A league teams ? Do you also want to pick the referee as well.

And the cup is always held during the NPL season, another great advantage.
Up until recently the semi finals and finals were played when npl was out of season and A league just started.

When we played Sydney fc in the 2017 semi we were 7 weeks out of season and the A league had already started. The current model is much better.

Well technically Heidelberg were drawn first anyway so even as "luck of the draw" they should get it.

Is it not advantegeous enough being a professional top flight club?
No, that is what national cup competitions are all about, David vs Goliath.

He he hee - you are actually saying "is it not advantageous enough to be the better side?" :).
