Your unpopular football opinion?

I wish all 3 of them had stuck around beyond S2; LOL at Adam Kwasnik, I’d all but forgotten about him
How could you forget the legend that was Kwas. Could score the most unbelievable goals then miss the unmissable. A true enigma.

It was a long time ago and he never backed himself to play abroad. Pretty sure most everyone’s forgot about Chad Gibson, Nick Ward and the like from those days

I didn't realise it at the time but the late 90s, early 00s were peak EPL.

Back when Ronaldo was 17, Cantona, Scholes, Henry, Bergkamp, Viera, Owen, Gerrard, Keane, Beckham, Zola, Yorke, Shearer and on and on were all running around.

I could be getting older too but it just do it for me anymore. Good luck to anyone who's into it though. Will always watch a set of highlights if they pop up.
This is probably my favourite era in terms of the Premier League too.

From about 95 to about 2002ish.....

But having said that I'll watch about 4 or 5 games per week now!

As well as bits from the EFL, SPL, La Liga, Serie A, The Bundesliga, Ligue Un etc....

I'm pretty much a football obsessive/addict....

FIFA needs to be dissolved, and a new independent body needs to be created. Leaders are decided by the stakeholder, i.e. coaches and players, not the heads of FA's

yeah maybe Ill look like an idiot, but I reckon that the club world cup will be as game changing to the non euro leagues as the actual world cup one day
Same here.

I thought the Club WC was quite brilliant.

Brilliant as an idea and culturally speaking a brilliant storyteller of football as the world's game.....

Regardless of how great things are there in terms of football quality we can’t be centring the club game around five league's in Western Europe.

Obviously I’m one of the nice mature fellas here on this subject.
I can’t agree early epl was great purely on the base’s of United winning so much :) sorry zim pretty obvious why but there was some sensational periods and as mentioned players weren’t soft cocks and earned their spot though CR7 was a soft cock for me as good as he was.
Torres LFC period was brilliant followed by Suarez and damn SG was a Legend to the max that CL win from behind was epic !
Though Div 1 was even more highs and even less soft cocks and it was raw hard skilful football.
Why I said there is so many highs and lows even today for me and as F us life says I’m a football fanatic regardless of the changes.
I may not like some changes but some football displayed is still brilliant viewing.

You're telling me that watching Salif Diao, El Hadji Diouf, Bruno Cheyrou, Bernard Diomede, or Abel Xavier were not the most cherished moments you've ever experienced...

I agree in principle but I die on the hill that 32 teams in it is too many; I would’ve preferred 16 instead.

I did read somewhere that FIFA were considering an increase to 48 teams for the next edition....

That’s too many. The current 32 is probably my ideal number. That way you get a few more South American, Asian and African teams in the mix than say 16...

I'm a huge watcher of elite European club football but seeing clubs from other parts of the global game was brilliant.

The differentiation of playing styles in that CWC was quite noticeable and a very interesting part of it all.
