Sign Up Now!been hearing this since it started. Clubs are actually starting to cut their cloth accordingly. Conroy also stated that made a profit last season. Stop being negative. It doesn’t take a genius to see that the A League is struggling.
Conroy has just said that they will be looking at the best way forward.
It’s only a matter of time until they realise that they can’t continue as a separate entity to the rest of the football.
And right there is the main problem with Oz football, a fractured sport that’s never united.
There’s a bigger elephant in the room than those two.Regardless of how people feel about the situation it’s a sad to lose a team, one less pathway for the players and the coaches which has bigger ramifications for the sport.
What happens next is going to be crucial, the APL need to address the elephant in the room which is the fixture list for the upcoming new season which hasn’t been released yet.
Also what happens in terms of expansion going back to 12 teams? Do the APL look at bringing in 2 new teams as opposed to only 1 with likely was Canberra?
With one less team now what does it mean for the TV deal with paramount/channel 10?
So many questions in now unknown times.
Not being negative just being realistic.been hearing this since it started. Clubs are actually starting to cut their cloth accordingly. Conroy also stated that made a profit last season. Stop being negative.
The Western United fiasco is a symptom of the overall problem, once the main issue is addressed then the game at a professional level can move forward.Just need to move on from this team at this point
Great to see you are celebrating with Melbourne Serbia
There’s a bigger elephant in the room than those two.
Probably just more of his wet dreams.Which is?
But how the heck can we do two divisions if we can't handle one?The Western United fiasco is a symptom of the overall problem, once the main issue is addressed then the game at a professional level can move forward.
What credibility do you still maintain it has??I'd imagine the league will conduct due diligence into all teams financials now.
Can't afford to fold another team, as the league will lose all credibility.
I'd stick with 12 teams for the next two seasons and then add two more in 2027/2028, and thats it.
14 teams max.
Never say never! For those who don’t know, this now means that Melbourne Serbia, who had two promotions in a row from the average state leagues to vpl1 now get to go to the play offs for NPL, as western noted cannot fold their second team. This is off the back of fitzy/melbourne Serbia’s awesome cup run last year
Pretty cool
They will face Melbourne city now - doubt they’ll go past here but great story
