Are $3.5k per player. what average Australian family can afford this? I dont know about you guys but when I was in school the best athletic kids were almost never well off. No wonder we got eurosnob fans most of the people in the sport are wealthy snobs lol bring back the ethnic community games at least some old bloke from Macedonia might actually coach for free.

Surely not - unless we're just referring to the standard club registrations where these players are mostly going to be selected from? (which sounds about right from some nufty clubs)

That is absolutely insane. Can’t even imagine the amount of talent being overlooked at that age due to not having the financial means to participate.

FA should pay for this, otherwise what’s the point of running this competition if it’s too costly to run but also if the next Oz talent can’t afford to play in it?

Hopefully some context in terms of who is paying if some of the players can’t afford to pay especially when all national team coaches from the male and females were there for the event watching on.

Hopefully that's the case, he deserves a call up to the Socceroos. There's certainly enough talent in that squad to navigate the likes of Timor and Northern Mariana Islands.

Naming Segecic for the national team does build that relationship but it doesn't lock him in which is the priority. I think here for the U23 is a good compromise as the travel is shorter and he's wearing our kit. For now....

I wasn't aware of this U23 window and seeing Beach and Drew shows that Popovic is probably not going to be too adventurous. If this Olyroos weren't playing I'd have felt Beach could've tagged along as 3rd keeper.

Yeah when you see the first 2 opponents it's just baffling. I'd like to know what discussions have been had. Again, we can only lock Segecic next at a WC so it's going to be a big test in patience.

The lack of communication is clearly apparent, imagine if Segecic gets a call up into the national team as well!
