Australian transfers 25-26 Winter

Football natural selection will generally lead to players finding their level. I know I drank some of the Triantis coolade based on the reports. But we hype certain players, Nisbet is another, then get hit by the reality check when they move to a mediocre league.
Everyone shit on Oniell and wanted Triantis. None of us were actually watching either of them play every week. Now they are both in the same league again, at the same level.
Actually quite a few of us watched both every week

I will say the basis for the hype has improved compared to a few years ago. At least these guys are generally playing consistently and well.
People might remember the day Ikonomedis and Brad Smith got minutes for Lazio and Liverpool respectively. Misplaced excitement there. But at the time we had nothing else.
Ikon's growth was stunted by Lazio's hoarding of him. He needed to move away at a crucial time. One of the best at Asian Cup 2019 so I'm glad he got his tournament.

It's not like he was going to become a Serie A mainstay at a big club but the repeated issue is having yourself loaned out as a squad filler and playing too little there. Cut ties and go where you're absolutely wanted. Most players improve immensely that way.

Certainly not a dig or retort at Cunningstunts posts here rather adding to an interesting discussion.

I do think Triantis and Nisbet are the two on here with a near complete scouting map given CCM posters who've seen them from the ground up.

Triantis wiped the league with the floor most weeks last season and going to English football felt like the natural progression. We're not going to see that now. Given his nationality switch my disappointment is limited.

I think the MLS move now adds the overhyped tag. It's so odd. Does he have a parter? A dream to live in the USA? Minnesota of all places. I know the A League teams fly all the time but I'd go mad being on the plane all the time when in the UK you're so much closer to everything.

Just repeating myself but despite odd agents and club choices, Nisbet has stood out with ease at those clubs. Roda fans are bemused they have someone so skilled.

His club turned down a championship offer. He might have been stuck with too high an asking price

Being one of those posters I would still say that Garang Kuol will have a great Socceroos career. Yes he went to early but he had injuries and Newcastle have admitted they have stuffed the loan deals. He is still only 20 but too many have written him off.

Compare him to Irankunda

in the ALM Garang had a goal involvement every 61 minutes, Irankunda every 104 minutes. In the Premier League U21 Garang has a goal involvement of every 92 minutes, Irankunda every 124 minutes in the Bundesliga U21.

Irankunda now has a goal involvement in the Championship in 173 minutes. I hope Garang gets a loan deal, hopefully to Pompey to team up with Farrell this season but even if he stays at Newcastle I can see him getting Cup minutes this year and then push for the first team.

Garang and Arzani can do more on one leg than what Leckie or Boyle have done. The latter two are workhorses but when it comes to late movements for a goal, they're not the ones to do it. Too rigid whereas Tilio is another who can create something.

You have to give it to Leckie, he stuck it out in Europe forced his way out of Gladbach when it wasn't working, went down to b2 and did well got his gig in B1. He did have a horrible touch though lol I wish some coach could've converted him to a WB, he could of played for a UCL club.

Versatile as well - Man of the Match playing as a CM in the ALM Grand final as well

For a bloke who started his football as an 11 year old, he still did pretty well.

Yeah if leckie and yengi start football at a young age they are probably golden gen good given their agility, athleticism and natural talent

Latest from Sky Sports News' Anthony Joseph:

Motherwell are closing in on the signing of Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Oscar Priestman.

Yeah he needed to be converted to a wing back way earlier. His attacking and scoring at FSV Frankfurt was top notch but that was the peak. Like others, I feel he got too many caps which hindered exploring other options.

Seems to be about 10 on average per calendar year, but obviously massively depends on how deep we go in tournaments during WC and Asian Cup years.
So realistically, we could only cap about three new players per calendar year without upsetting the game style too much (assuming the same manager). Otherwise, much larger changes could actually mean not going very deep into either the WC or Asian Cup.
