Official South Melbourne Hellas thread 🔵⚪

From what I heard, the antics at the ground to have a South U23 coach removed because they thought he was engaged in something against rules is laughable. The second goal was a clear free kick, as the Heidelberg striker pushed the South defender into the net. You don't fall over like that without being pushed.

I'm looking forward to the Dockerty Cup final. A half strength South side stood up against Heidelberg on the weekend. Imagine we had a full-strength side. Who knows - we may get a penalty awarded to us in the Dockerty Cup final!
+10 points if its Yiannis Zissis reffing.....

Australia Cup quarterfinal will be against the winner of the Sydney United 58 v Sydney FC round of 16 game, and a semi-final would be against the winner of the Heidelberg United/Western Sydney Wanderers v Nunawading City/Wellington Phoenix quarterfinal.

Tough run but a quarter vs utd and a semi vs bergers would be magic just before AU Championship..

As southmelb said though Auckland do look like they taking it seriously.. then again it is a one off cup game though and we can all dream!

I think what will hurt us most is that we are going to play this either 3 or 4 days after the cup final against heidelberg. Dont think we will have the legs. We were in the same position last year but we parked the bus and beat a depleted wellington. I fear we may get smashed. Obviously the club has to prioritise the cup final.

On a positive note we get at least 1 game with a packed lakeside grandstand this season.

And both cup games without Ren...

Very tough draw against Auckland. They’re a very good side and will be favourites. If we can get a crowd of 2-3K, then at least the club can generate some revenue.

We are now safe from relegation, so we can now focus on Dockerty Cup Grand Final and Australis Cup Round of 16.

Realistically we are little chance as Auckland seem to be taking this seriously and we could be backing up from the dockerty cup final.

Hopefully another 4,000 through the gates like the wellington game last season.
The ball is round and the match goes fro 90 mins ... anything can happen.... after the season we've had I wouldn't put it past us to win the whole goddamn thing.... hahahahahahaah .. and then the balcony bros will laugh and say it was always the plan.... 😭 😭 😭
