Aussies abroad šŸŒšŸ¦˜

It's not exactly the club that makes the player but I think we all just want to see an 11 with Bos, Triantis and others. It's always great when foreign commentators say the squad is to be reckoned with given where they play.

Ahhh WC 06 where English commentary would say 'big names from across the premier league plus Serie A and UCL regulars'.

Jack Iredale played the full match in addition to stoppage time, and got a yellow card in the 70th minute of Hibernian's 1-1 Europa League second qualifying round first leg draw against FC Midtjylland. Boyle played 83 minutes as captain before being subbed off.

Sydney born centre-back Markus Walker (2006) holds an šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗpassport but reps Denmark U19. After 10 years at FC NordsjƦlland’s academy, he’s now promoted to the main squad. Walker says his family often visits Australia and they have strong emotional ties to the country.

He started the season opener playing 90min.
Hope he commits to Aus.

Covid and its after effects are nearly killling the aleague. But the positive effects it’s had on youth development in this country is massive. I feel like the last 2 years we have had so much more younger talent getting time in the aleague and repaying the faith at a high technical level and giving it a good go overseas.

I don’t think we are far away from a real big European prospect breakthrough. Which in turn will help the general population view the league in a more positive light
Welcome to the forum, GSE.

The long term coaching development plan since 2008 has also had a positive effect on Aus's technical development of younger players.

Yep I've always said the bright side of the money going down hill was the rise of young players and imo the rise in quality of the league. Have you noticed there is barely any journeyman playing anymore? We used to call our league the recycle league it was a disgrace. Now we have the perfect blend of young players and few experience heads around them and a sprinkle of overseas players.

I hope this never changes if the league takes off again. This has been some of the best years of the a-league imo. It's so exciting seeing so many young players moving on and more coming through. We are finally becoming what this league should be... a great standard development league.
Well said, VG.

FotMob says he’s played one game since 2024. It’s hard to find info. I follow him on instagram, but he doesn’t post much that is helpful for tracking his progress. Also, I think he falls under the same category as those who can’t play for us unless he lives here. I’d love to see an A-League team bring him in and have a look at him. We’ve had players from lower leagues in Brazil in the past who have done well, so it’s not totally crazy.

He has been able to take part in some light training in the last couple of weeks, but remains at least a month away from being back up to full speed. As a result, Boro will head into the new season with Tom Glover and Sol Brynn as their two senior goalkeeping options

No news on mcgree injury next match tomorrow night against rangers
