Aussies abroad šŸŒšŸ¦˜

Delighted to see some major love for Triantis on the Sunderland boards after their latest Portuguese friendly. He played second half and some said he was MOTM 2nd half. Plenty said he needs to be part of the squad for the new season.

Mind you, my delight will dissolve like a puddle in midsummer if he picks Greece.

Really should have had caps for a lot of young players by now

A Lot of the heat will go on poppa, but i can excuse being conservative in the third round given the situation we are in. He should have had game time in the 2nd round along with a lot of other promising youngsters who arent yet first choice for the roos

I haven't looked at Sunderland's squad but it'll be a massive campaign and the depth and unity will be important as well as adding some quality.

I'd like them to stay up for at least one more season. Need a full 6 mix next year but it won't happen.

I should have posted it as a separate thread.
It was AA relevant due to his club dealing with it and the interesting aspect that he's injured and in a potential limbo with club.

It's been dealt with by the club and I think they'll move on now.

6pm CET kick off for FerencvƔros in Armenia. Not exactly sure why Adam Peacock sought an FC Noah kit on Twitter last year.

Hoping Arzani features but expecting him to be on bench or even omitted.

As expected Arzani omitted from squad. He was named initially but I didn't realise it was that large. The bench is still massive.

Highly experienced Callum O'Dowda is there and has scored. Under Keane you know they'll get on well and that's ignoring his football quality. Arzani may not yet be fully integrated but I hate these moves where they disappear with very little information.

A good 2:1 FerencvƔros win away but they'll be wary and will want ensure progression. Early days in the UCL.

Sydney born centre-back Markus Walker (2006) holds an šŸ‡¦šŸ‡ŗpassport but reps Denmark U19. After 10 years at FC NordsjƦlland’s academy, he’s now promoted to the main squad. Walker says his family often visits Australia and they have strong emotional ties to the country.

He started the season opener playing 90min.

Callum Elder came off the bench and played 20 minutes for Derby in a 3-2 friendly win over Walsall.

No Nikola Ujdur for Queen's Park in the Scottish League Cup.

No Dylan McGowan for Hamilton Academical in the Scottish League Cup.

Johnathan Aspropotamitis an unused substitute for Pohang Steelers in a 1-5 loss to Suwon in the K-League.

Cap him.

Such a rise for some of these young players who only recently were playing park football or in some underwhelming A League fixtures. Just goes to show something is there.
Covid and its after effects are nearly killling the aleague. But the positive effects it’s had on youth development in this country is massive. I feel like the last 2 years we have had so much more younger talent getting time in the aleague and repaying the faith at a high technical level and giving it a good go overseas.

I don’t think we are far away from a real big European prospect breakthrough. Which in turn will help the general population view the league in a more positive light
