Talk of banning males from child care. Why haven’t they said that about the world’s biggest paedo ring - the Catholic Church?

See the CEO of that group that hired him took home 3.2 million

As I said, money making schemes. Profit first, kid’s safety last.

The system enables it.

Can you dumb that down for me? Why does the system enable it?

It’s all set up for them to make obscene profit or bonuses. There are literally criminals all over the system it’s been that easy to scam. So basically greedy people and a greedy system is in place, and all the cuts happen at the bottom, where the kids are.

What we are left with is, parents paying a lot for a lack of professional services, lack of adequate staff numbers and also a lack of good staff. While those at top rake in the cash.

Hello aged care. They say the biggest inheritances are coming from bloomers. Guaranteed it'll all flow into the pockets of aged care and other services.

Lack of reform in many countries have made child care and aged care a disgraceful cash grab. Arrogant management of kindergartens rolling up in a Mercedes to overworked underpaid carers.

Thanks for explaining it's a bit like charities you hear how they take all the donations and the people who need it don't get anything

This is what happens when everything is privatised. They only give a fuck about their payouts and shares
This is a very good point. Not just in the example of children's care but across the whole social services sector....

This is because the treasuries and other government departments at both state and federal level, regardless of whether it's the LNP or the ALP are heavily advised by neo-classical economists who have all bought into a cultural economic outlook whereby policy is formulated leading to an overemphasis on efficiency at the expense of equity and social welfare. And politicians tend to take everything their over-educated, over-paid advisors tell them as gospel.

And while I don't blame them for doing it, because in this world everyone is out to make a dollar, the private sector will suck on whichever juicy mango is put in front of them....

Childcare, healthcare, aged care, the NDIS...

Classical economists assume that the most important factor in a product's price is its cost of production.

Neoclassical economic theory can impact how businesses, government and financial institutions operate, as well as how governments regulate markets.

But it's wrong, certainly wrong when it comes to care of children or any other type of care servicing. It just as you imply, leads to a culture of greediness.
