Couldn't find a thread for this game on here?

Had a good look at the entire game. It was ostensibly a Kawasaki B team V a B team for CCM. Kawasaki won 2-0.

Having said that, Kawasaki dominated the first half in terms of possession and territory. By the end of the game though a young CCM played some of the best football I've ever seen them play under Jackson.

Whoa! Some of you are saying . CCM won the title last year.

True. They did, but the quality of football they played in possession was rubbish for the AL.

Why? Most times they built up last season it tended to feature accelerated attacks. Build ups were rushed, lacking patience. CCM had all those extra players - Hall at CB, Farrell at Left Back, Ballard, Nesbit, the Brazilian forward who scored a few goals, Vuka retired.

Last year CCM tended to be better defending their penalty box against opposition attacks, and were more clinical than their opponents in the attacking penalty box.

The game against Kawasaki featured KF playing a good Full Pressing and intensive Squeezing game in the first 35 mins. They dropped off the Squeezing intensity and played more of a Half Press from then on.

CCM's young squad preferred to play a more conservative Half Press in Ball Possession Opposition, which is easier to maintain defensive shape, but less likely to disturb KF build ups. KF were good on the ball too, maintaining possession for long periods - and - they gained territory.

The young CCM guys on show, like Herrington at CM, the Kiwi RB's replacement, plus Theoharos showing what he really is capable of, Eames, Steele, Nathan Paull, Faisal, really developed some good patterns of passing and moving in neat triangles and diamonds in the build ups, maintaining the ball for long periods, despite not being able to convert in the final third and KF defensive pen box. The second half from CCM was impressive.

I'm assuming that was a really young CCM team?

in the squad 2 16yo, 4 19yo, 3 20yo, 1 21yo, 2 22yo and 3 23yo. 10 of those were starters. Only older starter was Theohaurus at 25. 5 academy products in the starting XI.
Thanks for that!

That is a very young CCM team - which bodes well for the future!
