I think everyone would embrace her if not for the suing incident. Suing someone raising money for a women's shelter is like being caught clubbing your neighbours puppy to death....I dunno social media is cruel tho so don't know how to take tho whole thing

I had some sympathy for her in light of some ppl worldwide making it a race-related thing(I think even Ice-T tweeted to the effect ‘that Aussie culture-vulture whitegirl')..but that aspect of it aside, she’s % fair-game otherwise.

Like @melbcityguy said, she doesn’t come across as likeable or even partly-interesting TBH; she did attend a Sydney FC home-game a couple of months after the Olympics though, if that’s just enough to get her in someone out there’s good graces.

Unless she has a controversial opinion on old soccer v new football, ethnic clubs, dual nationals,the national curriculum or promotion and relegation in which cancel cancel again!

And they both rocked up to the club’s end-of-season awards function several months later(this I wasn’t aware of before; I only found out while I was trawling online for proof of the former):

And that shows perfectly both parties desperate for a headline as minor as it is.

She took an artform that's culturally significant and important to a lot of people and made a mockery of it for her 15 minutes of fame. Establishment white lady privilege. The bogans loved it so she'll be on Love Island or Survivor any minute which is what she was after from the beginning. At best a talentless opportunist, at worst a bit of a psycho.

It's good to see their judgement in supporting a football is the same as their judgement in preparing for a Olympic sports event

Surely the selection process was rigged against better or more “authentic” Australian break dancers here?

Who are the people guilty of excluding the real talent?

And referring to Punchanello's "Establishment white lady privilege" comment was the real talent from less privileged backgrounds?

I get that the breakdancing scene in Australia is relatively small but there must have been some sort of inquiry into this selection debacle?

It's the Olympics not some bit of a B-Girl face off behind the local skateboarding park....

From what I understand the idea that it was an olympic event at all was completely absurd to people in the scene and many saw competing in it as a bit of a sell out.

My establishment white lady privilege comment was in reference to the fact that she thought she was entitled to engage in this half-arsed cosplay mockery, then play the victim, and still gets rewarded for it. Anyone with the slightest knowledge or respect for what it was would have seen the blow-back a mile off.

Even if she was terrible, had she made and effort and shown some respect, it wouldn't have mattered that she was a white suburban academic. She would have got pats on the back all around.
