Supposed to be 27 degrees on Wednesday and then 29 degrees on Saturday, so you’d think the evenings will be pretty perfect conditions for football.

I doubt Marconi v spirit will draw a particularly noteworthy crowd tbh considering the two just played, the lack of any real feeling/rivalry between the clubs and the disappointing end to the season

Bring back the old cb smith ffs. Not the best footage, but gives people who never saw it a rough idea, it’s hard to find photos of it.

By the way does anyone know why Fawkner azzurri fell away so dramatically as a club, they used to be an Italian equivalent of a northcote or a port melbourne or something. Spent a decent amount of time in the vpl. Now they’re way down the leagues

I doubt they will harden up. APIA = middle class, maybe even upper middle class club. Sydney united = decidedly working class. is what it is, as you say, at least they play well..and look like they actually like the game they play

Marconi seriously painful to watch at times in recent years, yesterday included. Maybe I don’t know the game as well as I think I do, but never understood what the commentators have seen that I don’t in Marconi the last few seasons when they’ve hyped them up. Clear to see they just had the ability to win the physical battle and grind out results.

the post codes maybe different but yours and our players are paid very well and staff - incl SU.
Sure we have some great backing but the main diff in the end is the play on the pitch.
Its not a class divide comparo but type of players how they are used and players styles, yours/SU more physical.
As far as I'm concerned you have mansions all round Bossely and the same applies round Edensor compared to 30/40yrs ago.
