The Australian Championship 🇦🇺🏆

Hahahah well, I wont be disapointed if that does happen. hahahahha
Who knows, grain of salt. I do think that would be a good group for Marconi though tbh. Marconi, Sydney united, Adelaide city, Canberra Croatia. If the weather is good and the scheduling is done right you could actually get some decent crowds this time around. I’d try to get to all 3. Would also try to get to an APIA v South Melbourne if possible

Again, I’m gonna run on the assumption it’s probably bs though.

Rumour from @olympic in the NPL thread:

Rumour

Aus championship finishes this year
B league starts on the same day the a league starts in season 27

Foudation club will have academy players in npl 1 in season 28

Also it will be on channel 10 10 play and paramount

Olympic has 2 separate entities one will play in npl 2 next year and the other will play in the b league

As who the other clubs are well that hasnt been confirmed so olympic prepared 1 year earlier than normal

My rumour is from someone from fa

Clean sheet has got the group correct

olympic players look disinterested against marconi and sydney united

Alot of them already been told a month ago they wont be at the club

IM a little happy only problem why wouldnt he tell us this at the general metting

The 500 k is a gurantee if they go broke they can recover part of there losses

Olympic will spend 600 k next year
Will concentrate on getting ready for the national stage

we are back in the national league b league

My rumours are very strong
Im happy to watch a few npl 2 games and get ready for the b league 2027

Summer will be so much better

FOOTBALL AUSTRALIA trying to get more youth to play npl 1

DECISION immenite olympic to play at another venue not kogarah or belmore

I implore people once again, for those who haven’t followed npl nsw and are only just now starting to get to know these clubs, this past year or so has not been Olympic living up to their full potential, it has been their lowest ebb. If they can turn things around even get close to fulfilling that potential they’ll be an asset to a potential national second division

A reminder of what they’ve been capable of in the post nsl era, not a million years ago.They scored early in this game and went on to win 2-0. 10k there that day;

Heard an interesting comment from someone extremely close to the Oakleigh playing group last night. Apparently the players and coaching staff are only contracted up until end of NPL finals season and they want re-assurances from the club they will be paid to play in the Championship... Watch this space we could have our first ever withdrawal of a team for lack of wages....

I’m sure they’ll work something out

I highly doubt any club will pull out.

There are only 4 new clubs this year; Adelaide City, Sutherland, Lions & Oakleigh.

Oakleigh would have an egg on their face if they did pull out.

The one thing you NEVER hear is a lack of money with those bastards.

Maybe South Melbourne and to a different extent Preston’s efforts to really lift the standard has finally exposed the limitations of the likes of Oakleigh.
I dont think its lack of money, I think its just player dissatisfaction and managing expectations...

That's probably true about the contractual period.

As an admin person I'd be bundling all the comps into the single contract so no one can try and hit you up for some sort of differentiation in wages between the comps. Run a tight ship.

Now if I'm an agent I'm hitting up the club for their dumb fuckery and trying to claim a larger per game fee.

A lot of players when they approach Championship Clubs, they want 2027 guaranteed. Signing for only 10 weeks during the championship can be difficult as you could be without a club in 2027, or the offers are not what you wanted.
