I think they've all had their positive moments. Franjic got a world cup assist. Atkinson was actually alright against Mbappe and won some duels and he got the assist for Goodwin against South Korea.

Grant was steadfast in his commitment. I think all of these players have benefited from something of a vacuum and looked good when replacing another.

Yeah i remember a horrid first touch under limited pressure from Atkinson led to the first goal for france

Youre suffering from mandela effect lol.

Franjic was injured in the first match against Chile, McGowan covered for him against Netherlands and Spain.

In the 2015 Asian Cup he played well without starring before getting injured in the final whereby millsy covered him. After that we didnt rrally see him again afyer his career was derailed by his ill fated move to russia where he didnt play for a yr. When he got back to the A league he wasnt as dominant as he was before. Stil imo the A leagues greatest right back. After Broich, was probably Roarcelona's best player along with McKay. Arguably got brought into the socceroos 2 or 3 yrs afyer he should have been.

McGowan with his fluke Cahill assist. It was a horrible ball to nothing that just sat up.

Yeah it was the child game where the defence, particularly the positioning gave me nightmares

My head dropped at 1:0 and the 2:0 tore me apart. When we got one back it went mental as it was frustration relief.

I always try to imagine scnese different. Ryan dives on the loose ball, we close down the 2:0. Imagine if the Bresciano volley goes through the finger tips.

With VAR Cahill gets a red for kicking out. The Cahill second goal rightly offside but imagine the linesman having a bad day and no VAR then.

Same world cup B&H had a fair goal ruled offside by a kiwi ref.

After we scored Cahill had another shot right away. Just imagine if it simply rolls past and in.

All hindsight and fantasy but I go through so many world cup moments at both ends and how they'd have been different
 
I love in the Chile highlights how obvious our plan for cahills goal was

Cahill puts his hand up "cross it to me , I'll try heading the ball in". The ball gets knocked out wide and for some reason we have ages to dink the ball in slowly allowing the Chile defence all the time in the world to prepare however they want for the most obvious plan of attack ever

Somehow cahill scores anyway
