Thereā€™s probably a lot of posturing and winks and nods by the clubs that are done to try to influence the most favourable outcome.

Getting the fans to push for H&A can only help, and rumours that itā€™s happening/not happening can encourage that.

The main goal is that it reaches enough of a ground swell that FA and APL canā€™t ignore it. Iā€™m really hoping (and quietly confident) that this years competition goes so well it canā€™t be ignored.

This has been dismissed by JJ and others, and it's just transfers between A-League clubs that aren't allowed.

Transfer Fees payable (outside
A-League)
The prohibition on Transfer Fees was
also removed by Football Australia in
2021. This has allowed Transfer Fees
to be paid between NPL/community
Clubs, while also permitting Transfer
Fees to be paid between A-League
and NPL/community Clubs.

They should have their youth team in the tier below, like Sydney Olympic will. Imagine if the NSW foundation teams all played NST this year and had youth teams at NPL level, they'd all be bottom five on the table but only one guaranteed spot for relegation. It would be farcical. I won't go as far to suggest they start at the bottom of the pyramid like some people wanted for the A-League youth teams šŸ˜…

And joining Sydney fc and Wanderers donā€™t forget, not to mention macathur, central coast, newcastle etc in the lower leagues. Would essentially become a youth league, to a unique degree nationally. Most npls might have 1 a league under 23s in the entire system. Nsw would have 10 across the npls

Unfortunately no i have not heard anything. I am just a casual supporter, i have nothing at all to do with the club, i only sometimes get gossip about south melbourne as a relative of mine is a board member.

so i've seen the presentation two weeks ago that the FA had with the Foundation clubs. There was no mention of 2027 and beyond, all they spoke about was, Commercial & broadcast, Registration & Roster, Competition Updates, Tickets, Memberships for this year's tournament. The H & A format is the assumption based off the initial timeline given by the FA.

I can send screenshots later if needed.

Put it this way, Clubs are kept out of the loop, they don't even know about the groups for this year. When our club asked the FA regarding those "mock up groups", their response was, "we don't use Dribl", so they avoided the question completely. That's what we are dealing with here.

I just made up a group that has the following conditions.

Sydney/Wollngong teams (6) to be spread across the 4 groups
4 VIC teams ditto
None of last years teams to be placed in same group as another team
I also tried to avoid teams with same ethnic backed clubs, although that was not an issue last year (Hellas v Olympic)

I am showing some bias towards South, so happy for others to play around with this. ;)

Canb Croatia

Sutherland

If APIA are gonna insist on putting wests in their name can they atleast use a crest more closely resembling their traditional one. Have had more than one person who follows the game at this level but not as closely as the sickos on this forum respond to the final list of clubs competing this year with ā€œwhoā€™s wests Apia?ā€

At the end of the day some groups are going to be more interesting than others, and some clubs are going to be disappointed. Again, thatā€™s more of an issue with the comp format than anything.

The question is obviously if itā€™s not random and theyā€™re pre determining the draw do they go out of their way to make it as interesting as possible for the clubs which will drive interest the most/have the biggest potential to draw crowds et

Every comp has more and less noteworthy fixtures, thatā€™s what makes the bigger ones worth looking forward to. The issue here is that you might get some clubs looking forward to this all year only to get no noteworthy fixtures at all

A bit of a spread is all I ask. There are 4 VIC teams and 4 groups, surely its not hard to start there as jumping off point?
