NPL 2026

Bathurst pulled out
Wagga moved to ACT
Branch refused to get seniors

🤷🏼‍♂️
My understanding on most of these comes from the Sydney clubs complaining about travel.
Sure - I know in a lot of these cases, FNSW did the draw so these rural teams got 2/3 home games rather than 1/2 (something I don't agree with either), but I know that's part of why Wagga and Griffith (Riverina Rhinos in the youth comp) moved to ACT.

Branches don't exist anymore (officially) from what I understand as well - so that would be why they refused to get seniors.

But back to my original statement - it's not just NPL that shows this, its just general across the board. People have complained to me from Griffith in the past when first joining Capital Football, that FNSW just didn't run any resources out west. Everything was expected to be in Sydney (training courses, etc).

Rumour

Aus championship finishes this year
B league starts on the same day the a league starts in season 27

Foudation club will have academy players in npl 1 in season 28

Also it will be on channel 10 10 play and paramount

Olympic has 2 separate entities one will play in npl 2 next year and the other will play in the b league

As who the other clubs are well that hasnt been confirmed so olympic prepared 1 year earlier than normal

My rumour is from someone from fa

Clean sheet has got the group correct

olympic players look disinterested against marconi and sydney united

Alot of them already been told a month ago they wont be at the club

IM a little happy only problem why wouldnt he tell us this at the general metting

The 500 k is a gurantee if they go broke they can recover part of there losses

Olympic will spend 600 k next year
Will concentrate on getting ready for the national stage

we are back in the national league b league

My rumours are very strong
Im happy to watch a few npl 2 games and get ready for the b league 2027

Summer will be so much better

FOOTBALL AUSTRALIA trying to get more youth to play npl 1

DECISION immenite olympic to play at another venue not kogarah or belmore

are we going to see promotion and relegation or just a 2nd closed league?

Only one thing I fundamentally disagree with and its this academy teams should be in their own league with A League Academies from their own state - it cheapens the pyramid system and devalues the NPL or they should be made to play in NPL2 or NPL3 to start with (similar) you could get to a scenario in VIC whereby 6 foundation clubs and 2 A League academies make up the 14 teams in NPL leaving only 6 teams in the NPL that would essentially kill the whole concept to me or have I got this wrong?

I don't mind it. It is normal in Portugal to have B teams in the lower leagues.
