Wait till Champions League football kicks in and the cups. Youā€™ll be trying to manage a paper thin squad with 2-3 games per week.

Yeah no excuse for us other than we should probably get a better striker. Richarlison isnā€™t consistent enough and Dom Solanke is always injured.

Very impressed with the womenā€™s transfer window though. They and the academy (the boys just beat Norwich 6ā€“1 away) outperform the men cause we always fuck up unfortunately. I dream of one day being a successful side at all levels.
 
Damn. Kadioglu out too. So that's no keeper, 3 injured defenders and a Herrington single point for fantasy. Still got Dewsbury Hall goal and Califiori but no playing keeper week one is amateur hour!
 
Villa will go shopping but nice to see so many reserves on the bench.

Not sure about Brighton squad. Looks a little thin but maybe a solid team.

Palace had chances yesterday but are shaky.

Naturally I have Elanga on my fantasy bench and the auto sub won't get me the points as 3 of my bloody defenders didn't play this weekend. Massive self inflicted problem not logging in.

Liverpool leaving so much space and Newcastle can counter with ease. Riveting game so far.
 


How is that a penalty? The attacker just goes to ground. Knee on knee garbage is the claim. Guarantee Newcastle don't get that awarded if Van Dijk does it. These types of clashes happen every week and the ref waves them off. It's all natural momentum.

However, this is the problem in football with VAR as well. The ref thought about it and gave it. Did he give it because it was Liverpool? Once given not enough to overturn it. I suspect Newcastle would also have got it. If it was Ipswich unlikely.

Same thing happens every week in the A League - if it is SFC or Victory it is given, if it is a smaller team against them it is not given.

The VAR simply confirms the big team bias of the referees. TBH for penalties if the referee has to think that long he should be the one reviewing the footage and he should be able to overturn it.

I don't think it is a penalty because we see clashes like this every week aved away when legs clash and the attacker initiates contact. I think this is a clear case of a bigger club being favoured. There's no way and underdog gets that. I can see why it was given but I think the attacker has gone down too easily there.

The ref paused and maybe the player rolling sore convinced him. We'll watch all season now similar scenes waved away.

i agree - but Newcastle would have got it. Only small teams wouldn't.

It's going to be an interesting season viewing such scenes.

It sucks Newcastle could get the win. City winning was unfortunate too.
