No, this was a couple of months before he was appointed(not that he’d have been involved in this even if he were)

They played again the following year(‘97) as Team Green vs. Team Gold, and the concept hasn’t been revisited since

In any case, these matches were analogous to the Aussie cricket team playing against 'Australia A'.

Is there merit to bringing this back? Absolutely there is, IMHO - though by the same token I’m the first to concede that the logistics of the current international-️ calendar’d make it all but impossible to schedule
