Australian transfers 26-27 Summer

Deal imminent. Irankunda to Sporting.

Crazy to think Bayern will get 40% of the fee because of sell-on. They did practically nothing to develop him. Adelaide deserves a lot more of the recognition. I hope by the end of this, when we look back, it was Sporting that actually developed and progressed him.

Will have a fight on his hands to get on the pitch but made easier by Suarez going to Fener (did this actually happen?)...

Reports coming in 30min ago that Watford have accepted Sporting's offer. Whether it's true however...

I guess with irvine no longer in the bundesliga you would think his roo days are numbered

miller now the only non-technical player in our best xi

Think it's a wonderful move for Irankunda. Sporting obviously rate him highly to pay such a price and Watford, the whole club is really a stinking pit right now. It's a great move for him to get out asap. Think his career is just going to stall there.
Gyokeres joined Sporting after 2 seasons with Coventry, then obviously got a big move to Arsenal.

Looks like Cerezo announced it first though (as I said before), interestingly. Good signing for them, makes sense why he was there after the World Cup now!

Irvine move confirmed by German Kicker.
Jackson Irvine to Cerezo Osaka now a done deal with the contract due to be officially signed upon obtainment of a Japanese visa. He's been assigned the number 36 jersey but it's not known how long he'll be under contract at the side for yet.

Herrington and Beach both going to top 5 leagues. But they both have very identifiable flaws,

Herrington more likely to succeed as he simply needs to get rid of a bad habit of stepping back in anticipation of a break and upsetting the offside trap. Beach though is a poor sweeper keeper and unless Troyes plays very deep he will be found out very quick. He can learn - but it is easier to get rid of a flaw like Herrington's than develop a skill that Beach needs to.

BTW Souttar likely to be at Blades.
All players have weaknesses, PJ.

You give me any Socceroo playing outfield and I can find weaknesses if I’m familiar enough with their game.

Herrington, if he has that subtle weakness, will likely overcome it soon.

Thats why i said further down whether you want to count Devlin.

Definitely when Moore and Vidmar were at Rangers youd have counted them as meeting that criteria but prob not these days. Having said that they are in a bit of a blip atm, and just a couple of yrs ago Celtic and Rangers both had ELO ratings akin to premier league sides after Rangers made the Europa league final.
1 year in the CL group stage since they died 15 or odd years ago.

They are a Europa League club now which giving them credit they have been very decent at lately (not last year though). However they have been very poor in CL qualifiers and the one year in the CL.

If the equation to compare this generation to the golden generation is top 5 or CL club outside top 5 then anyone playing for them definitely isn’t.

Celtic could be debated more but even I would concede we haven’t been in the CL consistently enough over the past 5-10 to be considered as a CL club outside
