2026 Australia Cup final rounds thread

I am looking at a positive side of things following the draw it gives AAMI Park more time between 4-8 week block (either from August 21st to September 16th/17th or August 21st to October 10th or October 14th/15th) to get playing surface in tip top condition for start of AFC Champions League Two group stage campaign for Melbourne Victory.

And start of the Isuzu UTE A League Men season for both Melbourne clubs its not all gloom and doom overall by not having cup ties at AAMI Park possibly until the final (if one or both Victorian clubs make the decider and host it) that's why in a way do not mind one bit being on the road tbh.

Lol two strong nsw npl representatives to knock one another out. How many times have APIA played Sydney united in the last year or so, approaching 10 times now surely with cup, league, finals, aus championship. In saying that I’ll probably still go if I can

Im just fucken bored of it. We will play each other minimum 4 times now this year.

We enter this competition to play the best sides around Australia, not in NSW.

It was a draw to save travel costs 🤐

Same same as always.
If it wasn’t SU it would be Marconi if still in as well re APIA.

If we are good enough and I have my doubts. That’s a great draw to reconnect with the fans/drum up some excitement for the league season if we can go on a run. Potentially 3 games at home in a row to the semis round assuming the other a-league sides do their job against lower league opposition.

By my calculations we have had like 5 home games in the history of the cup (mainly due to us being shit in it) and only played NPLQ side twice because of that covid season when they did regional early rounds. Would be nice to actually engage with the cup if we go on a run.

can see here how a majority of vic sides are playing vic sides and nsw sides playing nsw sides. Very lucky/unlucky depending on how you look at it.

Will be interesting to see which venues a few of these ties are played at.

There was a suggestion from someone a few weeks back that sd were interested in hosting a double header with APIA. Will be interesting to see if they peruse that

I saw the final score and thought that too.

But I see that it was Nil all at half time and they hit the woodwork in the first half. Could have played out differently?
Could honestly have been a lot worse for Olympic given the season they’ve had. Still spewing Marconi somehow got knocked out by them. Olympic just barely beat fraser park (Sydney Portugal) from npl 3 to qualify for this game

The final will be at AAMI or Lakeside this year, depending on if we face Victory or Sydney
