Hydration mulled wine and a cup of tea. It's not going to happen. I don't agree with the next steps of what FIFA are up to but is it really doomsday?

Go support your local club of you're that concerned. Vote with your wallet. Then again, it's not competition against rich Arabs and Chinese. We're nearly powerless. Only a full European boycott will work.

I think the issue is that Gianni Infanculo isn’t just adding hydration breaks. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. He’s corrupt as fuck and selling FIFA is by far and large crossing the line.

I think the conversation went the complete opposite... "how do we disguise ad beaks as player welfare concern" sort of thing.

There have been breaks for hydration in very hot situations for ages mate... Is till dont agree with you regarding the intent OR the chronology.. Sure, maybe Im wring and the "suits" really DO care about integrity and match fairness and player welfare but nothing I have seen these past months leads me to believe that... you?

It wasn't really THAT long ago when we ALL poopooed the idea of Football EVER having video assisted refereeing. It was only for the tug sport like AFL and Rugby we all decided, nothing will ever tarnish the beautiful game... Shit I still remember when refs wore nice tidy black (brandless) shirts and shorts with wee little pockets for their red and yellow cards and the ONLY player with a number higher than 11 on the bench were the 2 subs.

Big money isn't exclusively American. UEFA do plenty of that too.

Yes that was the reasoning as to why they did every match (at least publicly) - 'fairness'

But, it's been there for years. The option is there for years. It should have just been a 'when required' like it always has been.

You're alluding that even more is coming when a lot of it is just tacky entertainment that won't happen again. Dynamic pricing can be eradicated by local ticketing laws but FIFA will try to get around it. Hydration breaks won't be used elsewhere after this tournament. These are little things compared to the vague doomsday hunger games some on here think is going to happen.

I didn't enjoy these tacky ad ons at the tournament but we got through it. The football was the majority highlight and many of these things won't be repeated as the tournament won't be in North America. Do we expect Shakira in Saudi Arabia?
