Melbourne city thread

Makes sense. Has AL experience but won’t block Nieuwenhuizen’s development either. Similar to when City signed Jamie Young
Difference is that Jamie Young was one the best keeper in the league for a half of decade before joining city and Macklin is at best number 2 in this league.

He’s a lower end number 1. He can come in and be solid but he’s also not so good that Nieuwenhuizen has no chance of getting a game either.

In my retired keepers opinion, he is a perfect number 2 who can pull out worldies but is too inconsistent to be a number 1 even for sides down the table.

He is a very good at reflex saves and is slightly above average with his feet but his movement around the goal is poor thus conceding goals that either he probably should save or makes it’s look like he has conceded a worldie plus his command of the box is below average.

Given the resources and pull that city have I’d be extremely disappointed if I was a fan of them with this signing.
