Clubs: Doncaster Rovers, Scunthorpe United, Liverpool, Hamburg, Southampton, Newcastle United.


England (1972 to 1982): 63 caps, 21 goals. Captain 31 times.


Honours: Football League championship winner 1973, 1976 and 1977. FA Cup winner 1977. European Cup winner 1977. UEFA Cup winner 1973 and 1976. Bundesliga winner 1979.

Correct, humble, top bloke - chalk and cheese compared to todays modern players.
True re 1st game hadn't thought about that, how appropriate will be massive occasion he richly deserves..

Minor side fact last night, maybe there was something in the air, I watched a movie very late last night that got me very emotional having lost my ol man just last Dec.....
I haven't mourned it enough yet or let myself scream to the clouds kind of release.
No worries to say I balled my frigging eyes some afterwards into the blanket for as we blokes do, don't let it all out what’s bottled inside and here we are re KK upon waking up.

He was the son of a miner he was born in Yorkshire just 65km from where I was born he never let stardom change him was grounded to the hilt always humble and time for everyone and was regarded as one of the superstars of the 70s got better as a manager obviously for Newcastle and even England who can forget his infamous "I'll love it if we beat them" quote just wore his heart on his sleeve and was a top bloke so sad he suffered with cancer in the last year - but what a warrior he was 👏
Not a minor side mate Ive lost family this last year too have a brother with the big C at the moment so I know what you mean I actually woke up at around 3am checked my socials as you do and then read about it so I also shed a tear - Thats Life hey

Like I've said we have a long way to go in very short time.....
There is so much to be done yet post Slot its not giving me much confidence atm.
Glad to see that our WC players are back on the job but needing to gain fitness ofcourse.
Isak/Wirtz really really need to stand up 1st half of the season.

I also saw somewhere that Iraola mentioned that the players cannot run more than 30 minutes. Now the question is, is it due to their training in pre-season or does it stem down from last season with Slot and how he was training the team?


I could see some impressive signs against Monaco. Ndukwe is a young gun, very composed on the ball. Excited to Araujo in action also

I vaguely remember seeing something as such as well.
Considering each trial game we came out the blocks and fell away the 2nd, mind you many changes as they do.
I am not surprised though the clashing style of play of both gaffas.

Yes the few young ones that will get game time are impressive !
I’m hoping Araujo is a friggin beast next to VVD.
Promising to be a cracker pairing !
 
Well, first game over with......
Firstly huge send off for KK as we knew being linked to both clubs.
The chanting and tifo's around was pretty special viewing - oh how I wish we had a clone of him in our LFC shirt again.
He must have thought our game was pretty weak - heaps of errors but he sure would have done so much better than our overpaid Isak !
I just shake my head atm, surely in a game you know your being targeted by your opponents and the crowd you'd lift ?!
OK our play was patchy but seriously get in Isak, stand up cop the hits, hold the ball and show them up ffs.

We have a long way to go to play Andoniball that is for sure but the players are the ones to do it on the park.
Writz playing 10 role, he's still got to deliver the goods, patchy, at times you marvel at his close touch technique then you wonder where's the impact, the killer balls, take on the backline then give or have a top crack more often.
Andoni needs to untap him to work better with our mids for its not working to the potential expected.

Midfield is not right, the holes were begging the moment we lost ball in their last third.
Both their goals was from deep in their half ffs.

Kerkez, I have never been rapted since w egot him, Robbo with his ol legs did better last season - he got owned by Elanga many a time.
I just don't think he's to the standard we need.
Frimpong another - runs around a lot and loses tooo much ball puts us in the poop.
I'd sooner TAA back least he was brilliant going forward and caused havoc despite his packing in defence.

Jacquet is promising for his first league game, I give him a pass.

Hope they see we can't afford shifting Gakpo atm.
Poor young Rio - tried but nothing came off for the whole team balance isn't there.
Plus on the right isn't his fav.

We take the draw but man we got a long way to go.
 
Gomey is the only English player in the England team..changed a lot from when I last watched
