Isn't the 12 week transfer window for all men's Australian leagues? Maybe it isn't and it's just my assumption? But I can't see how it matters whether the Championship wants one day or 12 weeks, it's still inside the same window anyway so why bother highlighting it? Just weird that's all.

No mate, Australian Championship clubs can only sign players in that 6 day window...

There was an 8 day window in June for NPL NSW clubs. There's a small window before the Championship and then a longer window between NPL seasons.

the negotiations always seem to be a done deal before the window opens anyways.

i've already heard of one we almost have wrapped up for the championship & signing on for next season lol.

Ohhhhhh.... Man I thought the window was open for everyone for the 12 weeks. So only A-League gets all 12 weeks for transfers? That has to change, get everyone on the same page.

Watch the Sydney/Melbourne a league derby happen to be on the same day as a noteworthy aus championship fixture in Sydney/Melbourne etc

Marconi v Preston at the Marconi club at 11.30 am. Wanderers v Sydney fc at parramatta at 7.30 that night

The sydwsw game is on a Friday night. Surely they wouldn't be fucking stupid enough to put an AusChamp game on a Friday also.

That got me thinking. I reckon it's the APL and FA working together again for "clean air" for each comp. Maybe suggests to me that the first round of Championship will be hosted by the clubs in Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and possibly Hobart and Canberra? There would still have to be two or so matches in Sydney because they think they run the show 🫪😄
 
SBS is broadcasting this thing again I assume so they'll determine broadcast times. If they're aligning to the A League season again it'll be the AusChamp games in the day & the A League games at night. I'm still amused at the Marconi one being played in blazing hot temps in the middle of the day and the A League derby out at Parra 5 hours after the end of the Marconi game. Like their was going to be some sort of stampede from Marconi Stadium straight to Parra. Clowns.

By doing this you just disincentivise people attending and end up with only the diehards, anyone who was interested in checking it out, or considering going for the first time in a while etc they’ll just put it in the too hard basket. You’re trying to engage and re engage people, that’s not how you do it. Also remember with venues like Marconi or Sydney united, they’re not exactly centrally located, unless you live in the area it can require putting aside a fair chunk of time to get down etc i for one live nowhere near the ground so I have to plan ahead with work and travel etc to make sure I get get to key games etc so for that reason aswell morning kickoffs aren’t ideal ffs. You want to make it easy to attend games, not hard. That’s part of what npls advantage has been over the a league is recent years. It’s easier to follow, all games are free to watch online, you can just rock up to the ground etc etc
