This World Cup cycle has shown that anything can happen though so the strategy of taking upsets in all matches and hoping for the best might end up working in your favour.

To be fair not many of us thought England would get the job done over France in the third place match and definitely not in the manner they did during what ended up being a ten-goal thriller.
