Even then the myth on speed but if the whole line is high they'll be scrambling back against those swift opponents which is a silly tactic.

HAhahah mate big Harry is a beast and one of the first picked in the Socceroos XI.. Not sure whats with the casual racism but the question I was responding to is NOT who is Australia best player but which players will go on to play for top 5 leagues... Souttar (at least in my opinion) is NOT one of these players.

He's already played top 5 and is better now than then. He needn't do it anyway as a matter of just guaranteeing minutes and being fit and healthy for the national team.

Would have much preferred Ange being appointed National Technical Director than going to Al Nasr after reading that.

Will have to watch the doco now.

From my viewing they were better on the ball, had more possession, 7 corners to 4 and over 100+ pass's on us.
Yes alot of this hinged due to our tactics but they were better on the day - have 2 top players, Marmoush Salah.
Irakunda playing 9 was wrong but why didn't our fellas do better using the flanks, retain possession, open up more holes behind their backs for Irakunda to run onto for eg........
I get all our frustrations regards to Popa but the players need to take control and play it also.
We had no yellow cards in a do or die game.

No I agree, but I think we didn't help ourselves. If we had left everything out there in terms of making the right picks on the team sheet, I'd also be able to live with it but I think we had more to give and even that got us to a penalty shoot out.

I also wonder what could have been had Bos played the full game.

Note the NTS akin to our old deleted AIS :)

I'm watching any doco coming through netflix etc, some good some ok, Norway I enjoyed.

Hey as for Ange, well its a massive loss for us - agree, he's burnt towards us/obviously talking the FA.
He'd be a valuable NT TD not to be.

To say Toure won't be around in 4 years at that age and trajectory and then list the potential replacements is a long bow.

He'd be better off under attacking managers. I still think he was injured and wasn't 100%

It might be a bit reactive, but I would expect all of the other 3 i mentioned to be on par or past him in terms of the next world cup

But to say he won’t have a future with the Socceroos is ridiculous. He’s our best striker and there’s no way anyone else could’ve done better. Our style of play just doesn’t appreciate strikers.

It’s a bit like all those fake Matildas fans that barely watch games that call Ellie Carpenter washed when she’s literally the best right back in the world (and dare I say of all time).

I think Souttar was always going to be taking the penalty - given that he was our Captain until that point. Probably shouldn't have gone first though.

Ahh all weekend just imagining him hitting it lower and we start well. Maty gets his fingers to their first then stands still to catch Salah's. Herrington scored the winner.
 
The penalty shootout should take up about 1% of the discussion about the national team. People should be demanding an inquiry to know why we had a zero attacking gameplan after match day 1. The only shining light was Volpato trying to do something about it.
