Sydney FC Head Coach Ufuk Talay confirmed today that Brazilian superstar Douglas Costa will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Sky Blues' dramatic clash with Melbourne Victory last weekend.

Costa Sidelined For Lengthy Spell
Sydney FC Head Coach Ufuk Talay confirmed today that Brazilian superstar Douglas Costa will be sidelined for 6-8 weeks after sustaining a hamstring injury in the Sky Blues' dramatic clash with Melbourne Victory last weekend.
That'll throw a spanner in the works of Sydney's finals aspirations.
He was definitely hitting his strike but our we overloaded on attack and underloaded on defence. A regular defensive starter out for 6-8 weeks would be a much bigger issue (no jinx intended) because we have so little cover.
With Klimala back from injury, Lolley moves back on the wing. Segecic and Ouahim other starters which is still a very decent starting from 4. And will mean some more game time for Quintal and Kucharski who both need many more mins and also Amanitidis and Wood.

Talay's 5 man attacking midfield setup was baffling. Seems as though he grew half a brain and has tempered that a bit Hollman in midfield who for me was the man of the match against the Victory. Quiet achiever. Something else I did notice Lolley was playing as more of a number 9 centre forward type instead of out wide which I thought really suited him and gave Costa the license to ping his passes around. However with Costa gone seems to be that Lolley will head out back wide and the Klimala will drop into the centre forward position.
