To some degree yes, however, when you send on a specialist goalkeeper for penalties, you expect them to save at least 1 and put more pressure. It was clear after the 1st one that Egypt worked out he was moving too early and just waited for that.

As for the penalty takers, its pressure. You have to go to players with the steel. Putting an 18 year old at 4th when he is tired is added pressure. You can definitely be practicing and having a set standard with penalties. You can reduce the lottery element.

I was surprised ryan rather than izzo was our pen sub. Went early on every pen

I felt that it was all reward no risk when we pressed high, so it was weird to be so passive. I guess its poppa ball, but we were conceding high quality chances in our deep block, but didn't concede any chances of note when playing high

I can't be the only one here who was kind of clocked out, of course I wanted us to win but after terrible selections, and our ineffective playing style, Bos goes down and incorrect coaching decisions over and over again, I didn't feel much at the final whistle. Looking ahead, remove Popa and let's start fresh. Time to start with young players and play to their strengths.

I'm a keeper coach. i picked up on it straight away.

Toure was horrible. No game awareness whatsoever. I don’t know if he was nervous but the corner he gave away plus that rushed cross to no one is not things you see at World Cup level.
