You're right. But winners win when they need to.FFS Germany and their stupid casualness. They shouldn't have beaten Ivory Coast and should be suffering on 3 points.
Hrustic isn't bad either.Problem is no Goodwin for the set piece and cornor
I have had a funny feeling all week that he will start Hrustic in this one. It would be on brand.Hrustic isn't bad either.
Our set piece delivery has been a bit lacking.
Germany were grouped at the last World Cup in Qatar after finishing third in their group with Japan and Spain advancing as the top two sides. However, someone put them out in the round of 16 in Qatar - I think? Who was it?
Group of death!Germany were grouped at the last World Cup in Qatar after finishing third in their group with Japan and Spain advancing as the top two sides.
We can have Cahill & Klose in the same team and still wont be scoring from the set piece.Hrustic isn't bad either.

We can - but it's unlikelySo I'm gathering we can't avoid Germany in the next round if we make it?
Tough!

For some reason I thought Belgium were likely a few days ago. I fancied our chances as Bel underperform outside Europe. We can - but it's unlikely
From the 91 scenarios left possible of which groups make it that see us qualify from 3rd, there are:
- Germany - 64
- France/Norway - 23
- Portugal/Columbia - 4
According to NCB, who has done a lot of work on this, Belgium, Iran, Kiwis or Egypt are unlikely to be our opponents.Eh. I really don't care about all these third place shenanigans. Finishing less than second place after such a glorious win against Turkey would be such an utter disappointment. And so what even if we do go through? A game against Germany? Sure there's always a chance.... but realistically we are eliminated suffering 3 defeats out of 4 games. A pretty miserable campaign.
Compared to us smashing Paraguay today, finishing strong and I think we have a VERY VERY VERY good chance against any of Belgium, Iran, New Zealand and Egypt.
We MUST get the job done today. Who CARES about all these other games. This is one of the extremely rare chances in the world cup where fate is COMPLETELY in our own hands to get through.
You are just considering finishing 3rd. That group is who we play if we finish 2nd. 2nd v 2nd.According to NCB, who has done a lot of work on this, Belgium, Iran, Kiwis or Egypt are unlikely to be our opponents.
I’d love Belgium.
