Women's dual internationals thread

Stacey Papadopoulos and Greece drawn against England in the UEFA Women's World Cup qualifying playoffs first round which will be played over two legs during the October international window.

Laura Hughes and Bianca Gittany drawn against Albania and Iceland with Wales and Croatia respectively in the other UEFA Women's World Cup qualifying playoffs first round matches of interest from an Australian dual internationals perspective, with those matches also to be played over two legs during the October international window.

Vesna Milivojevic and Serbia drawn against Finland over two legs in their UEFA Women's World Cup qualifying playoffs first round tie.

I know this is old (I'm just exploring threads rn) but if you want another for your list, Aideen Keane (capped for the Young Matildas and the Under-23s) is a dual Irish & Australian citizen.

ETA: When I was looking at this thread it said there was only one page & it was last commented on in November last year, but as soon as I posted this suddenly it told me there are "new" posts so I refresh and find seven more pages and my comments supposedly posted "37 minutes ago" instead of 30 seconds... :/

Aideen Keane would be locked in to the Matildas already as she represented the Young Matildas previously at the under-20 Women's Asian Cup in 2019 when it was still an under-19 competition.

Ah I wasn't sure if that would count.

Also, sorry things seem to be loading weirdly for me, I'm seeing this comment on page 4 out of 8...

Would she? I thought only senior matches count. If so then Dani Galić can’t switch, right?

In saying that didn’t Adrian Segečić play at Men’s U20 Asian Cup?

With a name like Keane that definitely makes sense! Derived from Irish Ó Catháin (descendant of Catháin, essentially O’Keane).

I think under the current rules a player is locked to an association if they get at least a minute's worth of game time in official competition at either age grade or senior international level but not sure how we managed to lose Adrian Segecic if he played at the under-20 Asian Cup.

Yes, and the first name too haha

I have, it's seems to be stuck with "37 minutes ago" as the default timing comments get posted at. Very odd.

One minute? That seems a bit harsh, you could be played for one minute and then never again, and be locked out of other options :/

That's pretty shit. Idk why but I had in my mind like a maximum number of games you can be involved in or something.
Under the previous rules players could jump ship to another association if they had played less than three matches but now if they're fielded for any period of time in a match in official competition at any level they're locked in.

Okay those are the rules I had in my head, so good to know I didn't just make it up. I think the old rules are better, the new ones rather unfair.

Lower ranked countries are going to miss out on players that are hoping for a cap with their higher ranked nationality, with no hope of them coming back if they get dropped :/
