Ruon Tongyik will always be a case of what if for me.

A lot of people outside of AU were unaware of why he left the club when he was the youth team captain and won youth team player of the year and was expected to be the next big player out of Adelaide.

He had been warned multiple times by the club, in relation to some of his friends being bad influences on him (they were gang affiliated). AU felt his career would go down the drain due to this and they didn’t put up any fight when melb city came knocking on his door.

Fast forward several more years and then you had the ongoing r*** legal case, trouble seems to have followed him since he was a teenager.

I wonder if he’ll have some regrets with his career (especially the outside influences) when its all over.

Hearing CCM have offered a scholarship to NPLWA Striker Max Naylor ? Interesting that they've gone and done that and havent given out any to their current academy squad - some of which have left out of frustration.

Brisbane Roar men's captain Jay O'Shea is leaving the club at season's end upon falling out of contract following seven years of service time for them which saw him make over 150 A-League appearances for the side and become their fourth all-time record appearances holder.

James Hilton is moving to Macarthur ahead of A-League Men season 2026-27 from Auckland FC, where he was their second-string keeper this past season and made two appearances for the side between the sticks.

Tim Payne has been confirmed as moving from Wellington Phoenix to 48-time Paraguayan champions Club Olimpia for an undisclosed fee, subject to him completing a medical at the conclusion of the World Cup. He leaves the side as their seventh most-capped player in their history, having made 149 appearances for them in the A-League Men across seven years of service time.

Knew this’d happen. Incredible marketing strategy.

Ex AU player Panasha Madanha’s next move appears to be to NSW (Jets, Mariners & WSW have expressed varying degrees of interest)

I’ve always had a lot of time for Pan, ever since he was first noticed as a junior at my local NPL club.

A lot of people (me included) expected him to make it professionally. But he’s really suffered with not being able to have a permanent position - coaches have played him across multiple roles (RB/RWB/RM)

For me he has always been a RM as he doesn’t have the discipline to defend, if he can keep working on his distribution in the final third (making the right pass, cross or shot) Pan can still make it professionally, but its now or never at his next club

Have heard he has moved to WSW with Di Pizio.

Henry Hore is returning to Perth Glory for a second stint at the club ahead of A-League Men season 2026-27 after being culled by Brisbane Roar, and will be under contract at the side for the next two seasons through the end of season 2027-28.
