Phoenix agree to Payne transfer
Tim Payne is making a lifechanging move to one of South America’s biggest clubs.wellingtonphoenix.com
Tim Payne has been confirmed as moving from Wellington Phoenix to 48-time Paraguayan champions Club Olimpia for an undisclosed fee, subject to him completing a medical at the conclusion of the World Cup. He leaves the side as their seventh most-capped player in their history, having made 149 appearances for them in the A-League Men across seven years of service time.
Have heard he has moved to WSW with Di Pizio.Ex AU player Panasha Madanha’s next move appears to be to NSW (Jets, Mariners & WSW have expressed varying degrees of interest)
I’ve always had a lot of time for Pan, ever since he was first noticed as a junior at my local NPL club.
A lot of people (me included) expected him to make it professionally. But he’s really suffered with not being able to have a permanent position - coaches have played him across multiple roles (RB/RWB/RM)
For me he has always been a RM as he doesn’t have the discipline to defend, if he can keep working on his distribution in the final third (making the right pass, cross or shot) Pan can still make it professionally, but its now or never at his next club
