FIFA 2026 WC - general

I linked the other World Cup songs here (some good, some shit including the official one) but this one surely takes the cake as the worst.

Curaçao's passion was there today. They didn't park the bus. Every team that qualified deserves to be there and qualified ahead of teams who are considered to be better and larger or against teams who've gone close the past cycles.

The football is really starting to take over now. Great scenes with fans at many games and some of the better stadiums being used.

Aesthetically Vancouver and Houston are great for TV. San Francisco not so great. I can't stand MetLife for football.

I think they could’ve done a lot better than 7–1 though. Germany are obviously far stronger but Curaçao aren’t exactly a weak team.

Ecuador and Ivory Coast very good but an off day and Curaçao will try. 0 points I suspect though.

Very interesting to note someone like Ecuador now will probably lose to Germany and will need to work very hard to get into positive territory for a potential third place advancement.

I'll have to look at the tiebreakers.

Australia’s Shaun Evans is a White Supremacist?!!
Made 7News:

Honestly if he’s doing a white power symbol he can get fucked but I’m gonna take a guess and say he was just doing the Circle Game where you jokingly punch your mate for looking at it. If he was a white supremacist surely we woulda known a while ago, he’s been reffing in the A-League since he became an assistant ref in 2008.

It’s all quite hilarious …

Nearly as funny as Curucao’s links to Donald Trump. That’s a very abstract and cryptic fact that only a watcher of WWF in 1988 may pick up on!

They did refuse to let him use Curaçao as a base for invading Venezuela though.

Tunisia have reportedly given head coach Sabri Lamouchi the sack after being routed 5-1 by Sweden in their World Cup group F opener, which sees him become the first head coach to be given their marching orders following opening day of a World Cup campaign and comes after he only won one of his five games at the helm of the side since being appointed in mid-January.

It's 100% the latter and a nothing topic. Remember the Malcolm in the Middle episode?

New Zealand have lost attacker Matt Garbett to a hamstring injury ahead of opening day of their World Cup campaign against Iran, with the injury ruling him out for the entirety of the World Cup.
