It's the idiots in the press departments who think doing it all while the iron is hot is best when they should be spreading headlines out for long.

This decision would've warranted some analytical articles but it'll get swallowed up by the tournament. The timing would've been perfect 10 days lifting the world cup trophy.
 
I do believe we can get a draw against Turkey, maybe if we are lucky, a win. I just have a feeling we have a better chance to get a result than against the US. The US attack has been on fire recently. We haven't shown that we can create too many chances at this level so it will be like last World Cup where we get a lucky goal here or there. An Irankunda moment of magic, perhaps!

What a weird distraction of an announcement.
I guess the decision had been made no matter what happens so it was better to announce before we lose all 3 games.

I fell like we are either going to crash and burn or shock a lot of people. Either way I'm pumped for the ride.

Pretty sure I'd happily cop two 3-0 defeats if we just beat the US.
A dodgy handball call in the 93rd minute to win and suits me just fine.
 
Round Ball Australia confirms that Mo Toure was back at training today, and scoring bangers according to Jacob Italiano. We've definitely got goals in this team: Toure, Yengi, Irankunda, Bos - also Souttar, Irvine, Metcalfe. Burgess and Italiano have scored in clubland.
I just hope Poppa unleashes them early enough. I'd love it if he's dreamed up a master strategy of foxing the Turks, who will be expecting the usual catenaccio low block. Hold the line for the opening 15 mins, then suddenly, against a complacent defence, turn into Epic Fury Angeball and go into half-time 2-0 up. (Then I wake up)
