Okon never really hit the heights of his talents (mostly because of injury) for Australia. Even if we said one of Australia's greatest midfielders there is plenty of competition especially for the national team.

Jedinak, Mooy, Bresciano, Cahill, Warren, Rogic, Wade, Zelic, Milligan, Grella and Culina.Thes players all had something whether it was grit, temp or goals or a combination of all when playing for the national team.

I rate Okon similar to Bosnich, probably one of, if not the most talented players in his position, just behind others in terms of delivery for the national team.

Injury curtailed his best, but his international peak was at the 1992 Olympics

Yep, right place, right time often beats talent, money and a whole lot else. Certainly the set up is for him to have an impact, whether he takes the opportunity, we shall see very shortly.

Absolutely. He was so good to watch. Cool, stylish control of midfield. Good vision, good on the ball, accurate passing. And we had Ned Zelic who'd also be the 26, but Okon and Zelic didn't complement each other on the field. Okon only got 26 caps, mainly due to injuries.
