Yeah - I actual did consider whether this was "funny", for exactly that reason (literally - Simpsons on Random play is amazing).
But I figured these days most shows watched are of the "series-long-story-arc" types of shows, where randomising would be stupid, and it passed my "funny test" for this reason.
