The Football Australia Thread

Interesting anter claimed he consulted congress about the jaclyn lee payment and someonr from congress says they werent consulted in a follow up question

Im not sure how he survives so many deceptive statements that can be fact checked...then again some politicians can get away with it cant they. Hope he doesnt after watching this train wreck press conference

To be debt free by next year there wont be any friendly's for the national teams in Australia anytime soon. From what i could find it cost the FA a bucket load of money to get teams to come to Australia and even if a stadium is sold out it only cover the bare cost to just break even.
But if this is what it takes to survive then so be it.

Probably offending someone's dad here but did we give Viktor Orban new job? That boke sat back right on the panel!

Kügler's speech is alright content and delivery wise. Not everyone is a speaker. Fascinating to watch teaching Germans every day. Certainly good of him to conduct it in a foreign language and also areas where you'd love to train certain language aspects.

Stereotypical in many ways but in the end it's about the actions taken.

definitely liked Kugler to be honest, shame things went down hill with Anter

I'll be watching his next. Honestly a great example for a TEFL class as homework. They'll probably get hung up on the word Maroubra and come back upset about this new vocabulary!

Anter said they'll introduce 10 year club licencing. The APL clubs still have another 8 years remaining, so do we assume they'll be dishing out 10 year licences to the Championship clubs? And any A-League expansions?
The assumption is that the new licences which last ten years would supersede the existing A-Leagues club licencing which currently lasts eight years with Australian Championship sides also being given those licences, and with regards to expansion the APL needs to sort out the situation regarding Western United and Canberra United first before thinking about adding more teams to the comp.

mentioned not relying on major tournaments to have growth but better systems to take advantage of growth but no specifics of how

mentioned aligning the football calender and making regulations consistent across states
commercialising exisitng programs was the term I think I remember him using... One of the examples Anter brought up was a naming rights sponsor for the Championship... made me slightly less stressed about their commitment to it beyond this year.
