To make matters worse we may also be losing Eliopoulos for the year given how serious the injury looked which doesn't bode well for us heading into the second half of the NPL Victoria season where we have to bounce back after dropping so many points as well as the Hahn Australia Cup competition proper and Australian Championship.
 
When you factor in the amount of football these players have played and the psychological blow of losing this final, its going to be hard to come back from this i think.

Inglese/Jankovic is not a top tier central pairing and Swibel has simply not fired a shot whenever we've played a half decent team.

The morale is going to further drop after what Avondsle do to our kids tomorrow night. Then we dont even know if the club is considering giving these players an extended break.

Sadly we probably arent winning anything this year.

cant turn swibel into a proper player.. no matter the amount of training... that we thought he and singh would pull this off is dumbfounding to say thw least...

100% but lets see if there is a smlim chance they make the right moves to bring the train back on the rails.

Ive said it before but inglese is a liability on his own.. and a comedy of errors when those 2 play together...

Im still working on figuring out why he didnt move bonada to 9 instead of taking him off wgen cox came on and have taken swibbel off??

The set pieces from Lampard and Uchida were horrible today. The only way we looked likely is if we could bundle the ball over the line from a set piece. Nowhere near it in general play.

This is where Swibel kills you. He is slow. He cant press, you can forget about him making an intelligent run in behind a defence. The obvious play was get him off. Get Bonada to 9 and tell him to chase down every ball and harass the Auckland backline, like we saw against Preston. Very poorly coached.
 
Is South paying a full time wage this year? Surely gotta be some players in the squad that can't work remote off a laptop via Auckland for a month, or do those lads just get left behind to play npl

They have 4-5 that would be a good fit but they're young and will almost certainly be part of the senior setup. I dont think any Auckland players are gettable.

The 2 South Island lads would be gettable, and they defended way better in the semi than what we did today.
