Looked like quite a competitive game, China look strong physically and organised and had some good players up front.

They took their chances well especially the first goal which came from their high press and our No.8 turned it over as a result, the second goal was some poor defending but it came late in the game when we were pushing forward.

For us we lacked some cutting edge in the final third, and our play looked quite predictable and China dealt with it quite comfortably but I don't want to be crucial given they only 17 years old and clearly they still developing as players.
Although I think there is some interesting players especially the No.11 so it will be interesting how they develop going into the World Cup later in the year and beyond as well.

Its good tha f360 is covering youth football. Our views/listens on our pod always drop when we cover it (but we cover it anyway). 17 years of saying youth results dont matter has killed these brands which need to be rebuilt somehow. As much as people have dreamt of club football being the centerpiece of oz football, international football is which makes us similar to rugby union and cricket. So its crucial for these youth team brands to be rebuilt

The Joeys and Junior Matildas will be lucky to get results against the teams we've been drawn with especially given that we're in the group of death for both the men's and women's under-17 World Cup.
 
Like its good to be back at a U17 World Cup but at what cost of humiliation? The FA wont care they never have and the players are more focus on there TikTok account then playing for the country.
