FIFA 2026 WC - general



Scotland have confirmed that their final 26-player list for the World Cup will be named on Tuesday, May 19th, with head coach Steve Clarke having already submitted his 55-player preliminary list to FIFA ahead of the tournament getting underway.
 


New Zealand have named their final 26-player list for the World Cup, becoming the third country to do so after Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sweden. Chris Wood assumes the captaincy for the All Whites heading into their World Cup campaign.

The MENA countries in general are quite antisemitic, homophobic, misogynistic and transphobic. Listen to street interviews from places like Gaza and listen to how they speak about Jews or the LGBTQ community, or look how many women have to cover up in burqas in the heat.

We're only going to get a scrolling banner in alphabetical order when the Socceroos playing list is named because Football Australia doesn't have the money or they don't want to splash the cash but if the budget was there then we could totally do something similar to showcase Australia and all we have to offer on the world stage.

We've had player video snippets before. That's probably the best they can do. Wouldn't be surprised if they just used AI.
 
I think France has by far the strongest pool of players in World football right now.

Should be a strong favourite along with Argentina. Can see Spain or Brazil having a great go at it too.

England, Germany, Portugal and Mexico look decent bets for the quarter finals stage...

Germany should make it to the round of 16 at least and are likely going to top their group this time around before possibly facing the Socceroos in the round of 32 depending on how the group standings pan out and which best eight third-placed teams make it through to the knockouts.
