Graham Arnold's Iraq thread

So we can’t pick Ante Šuto this time then? Though he technically didn’t switch since he had never played an international match before.
No. Despite the trajectory of his career, the timing isn't fair on those who qualified. I guess it could be argued there's little difference to those already eligible but not having featured in qualifying. I find it at least in Iraq's case an unfair scramble of the backs of 40 years of waiting.

So you’d take Mitch Duke over him?

Except Tete’s only scored four goals in Japan while Jack is in the second tier of Korea.
I like Iredale for his positioning that inward forward late in a game would work. It's a pipe dream though.

Tete is looking very confident and I'd rather him regardless of Duke's form because he can't be relied on this time. I hope I'm wrong but he's had enough of a run.

A goal alone will send the Iraqi fans nuts. The advantage for the minnows is their erratic style can lead to being clipped in the box by more zonal defenders. I find big nations face off and have a decent reading of the other's blueprint but erratic ME nations in particular run peculiar lines and they fall after being shot like a sniper can only mean we should see a few dubious pens go their way.

Despite Arnold's achievement, do they part ways after the world cup in typical Iraqi fashion? It'd make sense to keep Arnold for the Asian Cup. He'd relish it but then investment in time in Iraq and the travel is probably taking its toll.

Iraq won't be giving Graham Arnold his marching orders any time soon given that he's already led them to a new era of success and they'll want him to take them all the way at the 2027 Asian Cup also.

Arnold was interviewed. He was happy it wasn't for a knockout. So it sounds like if Iraq wanted him - which I suspect they will - he will be happy to stay.

Iraq have officially secured two new recruits for the World Cup: Dundee United’s Dario Naamo from Finland Nashville SC’s Ahmed Qasem from Sweden.

Spanish camp and 1:0 against Andorra. Still settling. They're so ioa against it by with H2H!, taking the lead will really bring the shithousery out. I'd love to see Haaland flip up trying to pick up the fake injured

England also struggled against Andorra in the qualifiers somehow (also winning 1–0).
