Yep, for all the hate Arnie got we'd in a far worse state than we are now had Popa got the job instead of him.

Popa has no man-management skills and we lost two generational talents as a result.

As much as I want us to do well at this World Cup, part of me wouldn't be that upset if we don't as we'd finally be rid of that fraud for good.

I don't want to imagine how we might have been under Popovic earlier. Arnie squeezed the best juice he could.

I'd be really interested to know if there were any riffs at the end of what kind of disconnect there was.

Baccus is without a doubt the person who lost the most with the manager change.

Even if he’s gotten results Tony Popović is WAY worse at player selection and handling dual internationals. We got stars like Ale Circati, Nestory Irankunda and Mo Touré under Graham Arnold. We only lost Cristian Volpato who it looks like we aren’t gonna get anytime soon. Nowadays we’re losing all our stars. Nektarios Triantis is now part of Greece’s squad. Adrian Segečić has just got Championship Player of the Month and could apparently be in Croatia’s squad. We only really got Al-Hassan Touré, Paul Okon Jr and Ante Šuto (good players but the former shouldn’t be picked and the latter two should be subs).

The option what if they had a TD oversee these things as coaches are looking at the short term not the long term.

We got lucky under Arnie because he cares a lot about the national team but normally head coaches don’t do this because they not required to in most cases.

Wait three years and the choice of playing Al-Hasan Toure over Segecic after an A-league hat trick will look like one of the all time worst decisions.

Who came on for 60 Seconds against NZ in that role? We all had a laugh that it counts as precedence. Maybe Irankunda in the home game? Something like that.

Milligan is still too inexperienced to go for the Socceroos job.

Once Popa finally fucks off for good I could see us going for an overseas coach again.
