Sign Up Now!That's a very good question to which I hope someone has an answer to.Yeah it is all a bit difficult to follow. In a similar vein, I wonder if the Nations League serves to cap tie players?
Ditto Alex M. And the issue with us isn’t that we don’t have a Nations League here, it’s that the AFC can’t really have one until we grow some balls and support Japan’s attempts to break away from the AFC which continues to prove itself corrupt and easy for Gulf countries to bribe.Yeah it is all a bit difficult to follow. Nations league are FIFA sanctioned matches, why wouldn't it?That's a very good question to which I hope someone has an answer to.
Anyone else in Australia you want to discard?Adrian Segecic need not be mentioned on Green & Gold FC anymore since he has already made the decision to commit to the red and white checkerboard for life.
It's an A international, but not classed by FIFA as "official" competition.Interesting, why do you say that?
Goal.com reports the ASEAN championship as being recognised by FIFA as a Category "A" international tournament since 2016 (https://www.goal.com/en-us/news/fif...-points-to-aff-suzuki-cup/blt19e93564e6fa5d81).
I can't find anything that contradicts this, but happy to be corrected.
Friendlies are also FIFA sanctioned matches, but they are seen as "unofficial competition". Only "official competition" is relevant in tying players to a country. World Cup and continental championship qualifiers are official competition, but I'm not sure if Nations League is an official competition or not. I'm pretty sure ASEAN championship is not official competition.Nations league are FIFA sanctioned matches, why wouldn't it?

Sanctioning by FIFA means the games are recognised and count towards ranking points. Sanctioning does not mean it's official competition. The FIFA series between Australia, Cameroon, Curacao and China was sanctioned by FIFA, but it was not "official competition" and does not result in tying a player to a country. But why? It looks like they've been sanctioned by FIFA.
Sorry I mispoke.. I meant to say FIFA sanctioned official competition. It counts towards UEFA Euro qualifying so has to be... surely?Friendlies are also FIFA sanctioned matches, but they are seen as "unofficial competition". Kyle Sandilands. He’s officially committed to being a fuckwit. Don’t think he’s that good of a player either.Anyone else in Australia you want to discard?
I don't think being 1/2 walrus counts as dual national?Kyle Sandilands. He’s officially committed to being a fuckwit. Don’t think he’s that good of a player either.
You can talk about Segecic in the Aussies Abroad thread as he is still an Aussie, but he is no longer a dual international as he made his choice about where his national team allegiences lie.Anyone else in Australia you want to discard?
