Okon's son plays but Segecic doesn't. I'm sorry, there's only way to spell that, and it begins with NEP. Absolutely disgraceful. I can't see it any other way.
Quite ā€œfrankly speakingā€ I’m just baffled that we couldn’t give him a single minute against teams like Bangladesh. Same goes for Nektar.

Popovic and Okon are diabolical combination. TBH I think we are set up to finish bottom of the group with these two in charge. I can honestly see us losing every game.

Will be happy to be proved wrong, but that's my call.

ā€œ(We need to) be careful. This puts a strain on the mind – the greatest risk, then consulting with others, and that’s why (he was left out).ā€

This about Italiano followed by this post by Degenek. "Never trust words. Some people have sugar on their lips but venom in their hearts.ā€

Was this aimed at his club manager or Popovic.?

Who would have thought that Degenek is the new Confucious?

sounds like degenek is dropped and not happy about it

it really does seem a generational thing to really not take being dropped well

The context of the article makes it def sound about his club as it then speaks about how Poppa rates him and his club has not played him.

Ok, speaking frankly, and thereby invoking myself, it is flat out ridiculous that Souter is going to the WC. In what parallel universe has he justified selection?
I mean he barely played in the leadup to 2022 as well. He's had a horrid history with injuries. Despite that he was our biggest reason for getting to the knockout stages and having our best world cup ever.

It's hard to not have him in the squad despite his little gametime. Not only is he a beast defensively but he (unfortunately) has one of the better goal to game ratios in our squad. He has more goals for Australia than any player that we called up for our last squad. The only players called up in the last year that has more goals for the national team are Irvine and Duke. If he's fit, he's going to cause havoc and problems in any setpiece we get. We need him.

Problem is as proven with Arnie & Poppa, their A-League background has become an issue.

People had a vitriolic hatred of Arnie because of his past with Sydney FC and his selection of his former Sydney players like Luke Brattan.

Popovic the same thing, picks all his mates from WSW, Victory and Perth.

There's no way on earth Segecic is sidelined to the point of defecting like he did if he played for WSW, Victory and Perth under him.

If Muscat becomes coach, he would generally cop the same hate from everyone outside of Melbourne that Arnie got outside of Sydney and people generally remember the violent thug that Muscat was as a player.

Milligan is still relatively inexperienced still in his first role as a head coach, far too early to be talking about him as a national team coach.
Fair point Arnold's selections did gravitate towards players familiar with his training and style, same as Popa, although Popa on face value is sprouting contradictory rhetoric about merit etc.... Of the "Ange disciples" I feel Milligan although inexperienced would give the next generation a crack. Muscat most definitely would divide opinion? not sure what sort of coin he is on in China?
