Aussies abroad 🌍🦘

I think that of the current crop of Aussie managers Muscat and Corica should be under consideration with Muscat my preferred choice. Millsy is doing amazingly but I would like to have him have two or three seasons coaching a team.
Previous overseas managers seemed to be either German or Dutch (happy to be corrected). I wonder if the net was cast a bit wider and perhaps consider the Brazilian Felipe Luis, a former left back and championship manager in Brazil.

We should get a person or people whose job is specifically to scout dual internationals. Look at Morocco for example. The FRMF caps or tries to cap anyone with a drop of Moroccan blood in them. Morocco’s team is full of Belgians, Dutchmen, Frenchmen, Germans and Spaniards (plus a Canadian by birth who was raised in Morocco). In fact, their own captain (Achraf Hakimi) was born and raised in Madrid!
Technical director first. Then the resources underneath.

I'm the opposite; we need someone as manager who cares deeply about Australian football and who is going to be a good custodian of the game, including by taking a pragmatic approach to locking in home-grown players who might be tempted to switch. Graham Arnold certainly did that, and the impression I get is that there are plenty around. Australia is actually doing a pretty good job of producing decent managers at the moment.
Muscat or Milligan.

The reality is that the FA can not afford an international coach of any stature. Nor, to be blunt, would any seriously credentialed coach want the job. We don't have the players. Hiddinck was a one off: Lowy had the money to cover a short term contract and we had a group containing genuine A list players.

Don't we pay among the highest in the world? The fact is we can't attract someone well known as they with want to spend their time in Australia and commit to the project. It'll always be UEFA B grade journeymen who swindled us for good pay.

Ok. I swear there were comments on here over the years that we pay one of the highest amounts or might that have been amongst Australian sport? I the Saudi pay so high that it would've stretched the formatting of your list off the page? :D Oh how Mancici is going to be living off that lifetimes over.
