I think one reason Rugari is the way he is, is because he is from Adelaide. I have a theory that people from Adelaide are the most effusive when it comes to the A League. In my opinion, the Adelaide A League club has been the most successful in corralling all the supporters in Adelaide into supporting their club. They look at their own ethnic clubs and see absolutely no future for them.

But Adelaide is just an outlier.

(Yes, he lived in Brisbane when the Roar under Postecoglou went nuts, but that era just added to his pro A League views)
