OFC Professional League 🌏

PNG Hekari pulled off a MASSIVE upset and beat South Melbourne 2–1 in Ba, Fiji thanks to a winner in stoppage time!

Yesterday's match has left a really bad taste in the mouth.

No way am I considering going to New Zealand now.

If the club does not respect the fans, why should I bother supporting the team in this competition?

Win the thing, take the money, and then say adios.

Let an A League team send it's junior's team to represent Australia. They don't have to worry about offending their 'fans'.

If it is true that the OFC is pissed off that we only had 2 substitutes for the Auckland match, and 'demanded' we keep all our players in Fiji, then tell them to get stuffed.

They may not be happy that we are compromising their competition, but we have now severely compromised the NPLVIC. An it gets worse in May when we hand Heidelberg, Sunshine and Avondale 3 'forfeit' points.

Im quite the opposite... I was dissapointed by our performance in Fiji but exrtremely proud of our club and our performance yesterday... We play ALL KIDS not a just 1-2 junior players but ALL KIDS... and they played their guts out for us.... Went home feeling rejuvinated.

Don't let yesterday's events prevent you from travelling to Auckland. There will quite a few South fans travelling over if we make the grand final.

This is insane. We had no choice but to play all of them. Your argument just does not make sense.

Will you be feeling this way when our Third 11 gets walloped in the upcoming weeks?

Imagine Preston or Dandenong City losing a finals spot or getting relegated because they missed the opportunity to play our juniors.

I repeat .... give this spot to a franchise who does not have to worry about juggling players.

For all the teeth gnashing we are still top of the NPL. I was the biggest sceptic about this Oceania malarky and how we could juggle the demands of so many comeptitons... And still am but what I am MOST proud of is that desperate measures require accountability and flexibility. Yes we lost 0-3 yesterday, yes we gave up a chance to go 5 clear at the top, but on the flip side we have commited to this jaunt now and by hook or by crook we have to see it through... 5 more weeks of pain for potential a lucrative payout and continental bragging rights .... Its not my cup of team but the state government threw big coin at it, some national sponsors like Jarritos threw big coin at it and FIFA wants is us there...

That’s the irony …. we ARE juggling the two competitions well.

Except yesterday’s unnecessary team has ruined the whole thing for me.

You wouldn’t be feeling so effusive if we had a massive injury list.

My capacity for being effusive knows no bounds.... I dont disagree with you btw, its just that I don't think there is anythign we can do to change the situation now...

We've hired the tux, weve paid for the band... Hellas has to dance now, whether we want it or not...
