Sign Up Now!I disagree. The money is there for the taking. If we win this competition - we go shopping in mid season transfer window. And all becuase they think we are going to win $450k??? Jesus we are dumb sometimes.
Speaking of keepers, the young lad was tremendous, great distribution, a cannon of a kick, decisive when coming out.... Id rate him miles above Trenkov and not far off Charleston as second choice....Some real keepers in that squad though which is further tesriment to the work being done in the background.
That was pretty poor by Oakleigh... Second goal was ok and the third was inevitable but they struggled for large portions of the game to penetrate.... Id bank the 3 point and go back to the ghetto without to much noise If I were them.Whilst Oakleigh were ordinary you have to factor in that its not easy rocking up to a game that you know isnt a proper match. Very rarely does a team know they've won the game before its started.
South Melbourne women still managed to get the job done 2-1 over Bulleen Lions on the road in their NPLW Victoria game courtesy of a goal to captain Francesca Iermano, along with a converted penalty from Meisha Westland in the 7th and 81st minute respectively to go three wins in a row and move to fifth on the ladder on 17 points, one point outside the top four through nine matchdays. What a weekend of football. Two matches - two losses.
EVERY single player should hold their head up nice and high, They made themselves, their families and us very proud yesterday and well deserved the applause and well wishes after the game. There’s not much point trying to discuss this match given South pretty much fielded a combination of our U20s/U23s today. The fact the kids were able to keep Oakleigh scoreless until the 5th minute of injury time in the first half is testament to the quality of these kids and the effort they put in.
The positive today is that we have a bunch of kids coming through the club’s youth program that are going to play senior football. We have some talented kids - not all will make it to the senior squad, but we can confident that we have kids who can step up and measure themselves against other opponents. They will be better for the experience today. The way the fans acknowledged and applauded their efforts will ensure they hold their heads up high.
That being said - a full strength South side would have won by a couple of goals today.
Eh, we cant always win.. Think back to where we were a year ago...What a weekend of football. Two matches - two losses.
O'Sullivan is a future captain. He bossed the back line from start to finish. Both Papadimitriou and Saristavros did very well, I also liked Angelatos (the one with longer hair) and the Van Riet the keeper... Dovison looks like he is recovering some of his speed, hope he continues tog et chances. We played Oakleigh with 6 debutante players (including bench) thats unheard of.O'Sullivan is ready now to be part of the senior squad every week. Papadimitriou and Saristavros are the next ones most likely to make it.
Anyway you blood these kids in with the main team and that shows a lot more. Its hard to judge when they're all in at once and get physically beaten by bigger more experienced bodies.
If we had Lopez, Eliopoulos, Jankovic, Pasquali and Bonada in the 11 today like we did against Gully with the kids surrounding them we would have given them a lot of trouble.
Agree ! This kid looked good. He must have been only 18-19 years old, but played with greater maturity. I reckon we get rid of Shalamanov-Trenkov at the very least. Question is - do we keep Charlston around for the remainder of the season.Speaking of keepers, the young lad was tremendous, great distribution, a cannon of a kick, decisive when coming out.... Id rate him miles above Trenkov and not far off Charleston as second choice....
Mate, we put the big guns on and couldn't beat the bottom team in the heat, Sure we had a player down but some of the PNG players were 20kgs overweight and couldnt kick a ball straight if their lives depended on it. At one stage, after a stoppage, the PNG keeper picked the ball up with his hands to kick it in... they don't even know the rules... and we still lost....I disagree. The money is there for the taking. At least Messorouni got to dress up as South Melbourne Hellas captain for 45 mins of football overseas. Silver linings and all that.Is anyone going to ask to ask, at least rhetorically, why we had to play these kids yesterday?!!
There was no legitimate reason!
Do we enjoy just gifting those scum points?
We probably supported their application for their boondoggle grandstand that is permanently empty.
I am no mood for humour. And neither should you!At least Messorouni got to dress up as South Melbourne Hellas captain for 45 mins of football overseas. Silver linings and all that.
Just get your drink in a plastic cup from the bar like the rest of us mate... Don't be fancy with glasswarebtw ..... from now on, I am smuggling liquor into Lakeside from now on.
Fuck the clubs inability make a stand for their fans on this issue

No argument but he was right there.... if he wasnt going to jump on a plane home why didnt he play?We lost because Lopez didnt play, if he plays its simple we keep a clean sheet. We havent lost in the ofc when Lopez plays.
