The Newcastle Jets Thread

Hopefully they keep most of their squad together for another season, it would be great to see what this group of players could do in the ACL.
But I wouldn't be surprised if they lost half their team come the new season, I think it would be beneficial to the players development if they stayed at least another year and play in that competition and defend their title.

Rose has already agreed to join Dundee.
The following players are off contract at the end of the season:
  • Alex Nassiep
  • Alex Nunes
  • Ben Gibson
  • Ben Van Dorssen
  • Christian Bracco
  • Clayton Taylor
  • Kosta Grozos
  • Kota Mizunuma
  • Lachlan Bayliss
  • Lucas Scicluna
  • Mark Natta
  • Noah James
  • Oscar Fryer
  • Richard Nkomo
  • Thomas Aquilina
I could see a few of those players getting a bit of attention in the off season, especially if Jets win the GF as well.
Taylor would almost certainly get some offers. I could see also Bayliss, Natta and Grozos also possibly getting some offers.

New hard salary cap next season, so I reckon we will see some high turn over the off season.

Macca reckons Taylor to MacArthur…. Would have to be the dumbest transfer in the history of football if true. I won’t even be mad I’ll kind of just feel sorry for him

The APL hasn't confirmed a hard salary cap for next season yet but agree that many of the Newcastle Jets youth players will likely be headed for pastures new come season's end as they garner interest from overseas clubs and other A-League Men sides.

They would rather re-sign these players and sell the contracted players for a fee wouldnt they?
