I've always lived the Northern NSW coastal region.

enjoy F u l........
No doubt its a wonderful part of the coast - mind you I frequented since the ol days and I really dislike how commercial it has become and packed.
I avoid the holiday periods - off peak best there thats for sure.

Heading off to KL Sunday for a week then to China - more work than pleasure but will be good to be in warmer climates as Autumn is really starting to kick in.

Beautiful part of the world and Byron’s the worst part!

It's certainly a funny little place...

Picture this..... a barefoot trust-fund hippie in $400 linen pants doing sunrise yoga on the beach while a van-dweller named Gaz (who's been "finding himself" since 1997) brews meth infused coffee on a camp stove 10 metres away...

Meanwhile the local economy runs on three things ... overpriced avocado toast, crystal healing sessions that cost more than rent in most towns, and property agents cackling maniacally as they list wooden beach shacks for $4.2 million!

The original Byron hippies are now either millionaires selling $18 smoothies or quietly living in a tent behind the bottle shop, wondering where it all went wrong.

pretty good review hahaha
I kackle like mad for my first ventures there started late 70's heydays was epic classic little coastal town.
Wish I bought something back then but only had enough for fuel/surfboards/slept in the cars where ever you wanted/grog and bags of very cheap weed hahaha and families wouldn't have gone there for hols because of all the long haired surfie bums etc smoking weed walking around the shops and pubs.
Today its all this trendy OTT style, hollywood actor spotting and all the fake kardashian hemsworth types.
Fake is fake but people lap it up.

Wasn't it Paul Hogan who was one of the first celebrities to make Byron their home?
yes he built a mega mansion but Stropp his manager bought the beachside Byron pub.
That put it on the map even more - he did the Justin Hems long before his parents made the $ with Merrivale.

Off to Auckland on Saturday .. despite travelling to dozens of other destinations Ive never been to our closest neighbour...

Yeah I said this to someone on Reddit the other day. All the real hippies and cookers live outside Byron, Byron’s where all the Greenies from Brisbane and Sydney live. Mullumbimby is the anti-vax capital of Australia for example while Nimbin is the weed capital. Then go south to the farming and fishing towns and it’s all white retirees, bogans, surfers, Indigenous people and Nationals voters till you get to Newcastle. Great beaches and food and lovely people other than the crime in specific towns, but Coffs is a bit of a shithole.
